As promised, to celebrate my first year in business I’d like to offer my readers and clients some specials during the summer months.  This month, I am offering portrait mini-sessions: a 30 minute session with yours truly:

Kids, this is a deal – the regular price for a portrait session + 1 digital image is $250.  More details:

  • while you need to book and pay for the mini-session during the month of June, you can schedule your mini-session for anytime during the year (holiday card shots, anyone?)  So for anyone planning on a visit to Southern California, keep this in mind…
  • the mini-session can take place at your home (sort of a mini day-in-the-life session) or on location, so long as the location is within 20 miles of the Seal Beach area.
  • buying the mini-session as a gift?  Let me know and I’ll create a gift certificate for you.
  • there are only a limited number of mini-sessions available, so don’t wait too long to schedule yours.

Email me to book your mini-session – happy first month of Summer!

Admit it – I win the “who has the cutest kids” competition for today.

If this photograph was actually a featured spread in Vogue, this would be the fashion breakdown for both outfits:

On 4.5 year old (seated on enormous bean bag chair): green and purple polka-dot bows from craft faire.  Red sweater courtesy of Grandma Helen.  Come to think of it red pants by  Hanna Andersson (also courtesy of Grandma Helen).  Sneakers by Stride Rite.  It is school spirit day at preschool, hence the head-to-toe red look.

On my 2 year old: dress by Baby Gap.  Boots by Paul Frank for Target.  Jewelry by Disney – the princess collection.  Hair clip the model’s own (not sure where I got it).  It is June and I live in Southern California, yes, but apparently it is never a bad time to wear rain boots.

Have a wonderful weekend!

My first baby, Jack.  A member of doggie AARP.  We adopted Jack and his brother Henry from Beagles and Buddies – the caretakers would not let these brothers be separated.  They have moved from Southern California to Berkeley and back again.  They have accepted their fall from the top of the totem pole with grace (with the arrival of our kids), but of course we still love our doggies.  Even though they drive us crazy.

How can you not love this face??

DISCLAIMER – Heather if you are reading this post and want to be surprised when you receive your order LOOK AWAY RIGHT NOW.

I admit I was a skeptic regarding canvas gallery wraps.  I wasn’t sure about the quality, and I’m a “frame and mat” photography kind of girl.

But now – I get it.

Here is one canvas gallery wrap from my session with the cousins – and I truly do love it.  I love the image she chose, how light and ethereal the image looks.  I love that there is no frame competing with the image itself.

I think it will look fantastic in Heather’s home – and if any clients of mine are interested in purchasing a canvas let me know.  You won’t be disappointed.

I went and got hitched.

To my husband – it is hard to believe 9 years have already gone by, and yet so much has happened during that time.  I have enjoyed every adventure and every detour we’ve experienced.  Thank you for being unconditionally supportive of my photography career, and never once complaining about all the student loans we will still have to pay off.  I look forward to what this year has in store for us as a couple and a family.

Happy Anniversary!

I love you – your wife

(PS – sorry for the tiny, crummy wedding photo – I got married back in the olden days of film, so this is an iPhoto picture taken from my wedding album).
